Painting

My work explores pushing the boundary of what can be considered a painting. Starting with a face I use extreme contrasts of light and texture to create my pieces. After being influenced by Rosalind Krauss’ ideas, I started experimenting with projecting light onto the front and back of the canvas to see how it interacts with the pigments. This created a cyclic effect between painting and photographing my work.
