Charlie Seddon

My work centers around the re-usability of digital media, allowing the visual languages within technological networks and tools used to develop my works to lead me throughout the editing process, determining the pieces outcome along the way. All my decisions are intentional in attempting to cater to the editing tool, rather than the editing tool catering to the footage. The editing process is

predetermined rather than filming first to then consider how the piece should be edited. My footage has no purpose without the technical process backing it up and is selected based on its effectiveness with the techniques I plan on using. Conceptually, my theme relates to the mystery of technology and how

information is absorbed, and I focus on creating short video artworks that aim to provoke feelings of discomfort, and to convey a sense of paranoia through glitch aesthetics, unnatural sounds, and overwhelming visuals to the viewer
