The aim of my work is to try to show people how we all have places that we relate to, whether it’s our homes or holiday destinations. And how we all continuously travel, even if we don’t realise it. My practice of photography helps me show this in my work, as the process of overlaying my photographs with different, contrasting scenes results in an atmospheric sense of nostalgia and memory for the viewer. I try to accentuate this sense of memory through fading different images further on top of one another, and then experiment with colour/saturation/different points of focus etc. At the moment, my current works play with the theme of these places that we relate to, and hint at how they may now change due to the impact of Brexit across the UK.
