My art practice has changed and evolved throughout my time at university, however despite my various interests and explorations, I have always stuck by the medium of painting. Recently I have been exploring the idea of art as evidence for spirituality and meaning in the world in response to my own personal faith and values. My work has involved exploring this idea of the transcendent and how art, in its ability to stir emotion and yet often be impossible to explain, is something which reveals this. This year I began incorporating the use of digital imagery to then be used for my painting practice in order to create imagery with a focus on the use of metaphors and aesthetics and how this can be used to stir emotional responses and the formation of questions about life, faith, spirituality and what it’s all about
